For over 75 years, NCM Associates has led the way in dealership performance solutions. From pioneering the first 20 Group model to developing advanced business intelligence tools and training programs, NCM has continually innovated to meet the evolving needs of dealers and OEMs across North America and beyond.

Our Origins
In 1945, a group of successful Ford dealerships formed the Dealer Analysis Bureau, later becoming NCM Associates’ original Automotive 20 Group. With the help of Kansas City-based Central Services, they began providing key management insights, sparking the growth of a groundbreaking approach to dealership operations.

New Horizons
By 1947, the success of the 20 Group concept had drawn widespread interest from dealers, prompting Central Services—led by C.V. Nichols, Maynard Campbell, Rudy Fick, and Bob Morrow—to expand its offerings to the broader automotive market. In 1966, Bob Morrow’s purchase of Rudy Fick’s stake led to the company’s rebranding as Nichols, Campbell & Morrow, Inc., which later became NCM Associates, an employee-owned organization committed to client success through its ESOP structure.

Innovating For Growth
By 2010, NCM responded to increasing industry demand and a critical need for knowledge by launching the NCM Institute, offering specialized training for dealership professionals. In 2012, NCM expanded its solutions with Axcessa, a powerful software platform that transforms DMS data into clear, actionable insights to support smarter, data-driven decisions.

Strategic Expansion
As part of its North American expansion, NCM acquired Canada-based Consept LLC and TSI Auto Solutions in 2018, strengthening its 20 Group services and adding SaaS solutions for OEMs and dealer networks. In 2022, NCM further broadened its reach by acquiring Spader Business Management and A World of Training, enhancing its consulting and training capabilities across multiple industries including RV, farm equipment, powersports, and marine. Then, in 2024, NCM Associates acquired Kain Automotive, a Louisville-based firm renowned for its expertise in internet sales, BDC operations, digital marketing training, and 20 Group services, further enhancing NCM's capabilities in these key areas.
